Edward R. Tedeschi

Mr. Tedeschi is the Founder and Chairman of HC Associates, LLC. His professional experience encompasses close to 30 years in asset management, alternative investments, finance, trading, operations and administration. Prior to establishing HC Associates he was Senior Vice President at Lehman Brothers, Inc., San Francisco where he headed the western region for Prime Brokerage and Equity Finance Division.

Prior thereto, he was employed by Genesis Merchant Group as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer. He was responsible for daily oversight of the registered investment advisor Seneca Capital Management, NASD broker-dealer Genesis Merchant Group Securities and a family of proprietary alternative investment funds with aggregate assets exceeding $20 billion under management in a multitude of strategies. Mr. Tedeschi was strategic adviser to Phoenix Investment Partners and their acquisition of Seneca Capital Management, Roger Engemann and Associates and Zweig Securities. He held a similar advisory role on behalf of Bel Air Investment Advisors (a lift out of former Goldman Sachs partners).

Prior to joining Genesis and relocating to San Francisco, he was Vice President at Morgan Stanley & Co., New York. His Morgan Stanley career spanned over ten years where he performed a variety of roles in finance, administration and operations.  He was one of the founding principals of Morgan’s Correspondent Clearing Services, assisted in the formation of its market leading Prime Brokerage group and traveled globally during the expansion of the firms international business.

 Mr. Tedeschi’s professional career started in 1979 with Goldman Sachs & Co., where he received his introduction to finance, administration and operations. He holds NASD registrations in the Series 4, 7, 8, 24, and 63.

Carl J. Versella

Carl J. Versella is managing member and Chief Operating Officer for HC Associates, LLC. He lends his expertise to the credit, financing, due diligence and start up services for the firm on behalf of HC clients and is instrumental in developing strategic relationships throughout the industry.

Mr. Versella’s professional experience spans more than 26 years in finance, operations and consulting with close to twenty years in the Hedge Fund and Prime Brokerage industries. He was Director at Credit Suisse First Boston for over five years advising and consulting for hedge funds and was a senior professional involved in the development of sales, marketing, technology and infrastructure for CSFB’s Prime Services unit. Notable relationships established represented alternative investment managers in all phases of their business lifecycle including start up to multi-billion dollar managers.

Prior thereto, Mr. Versella was selected by Morgan Stanley to consult for Tiger Management LLC, a global hedge fund group with assets under management in excess of $20 billion, specifically to facilitate the build out of its operating infrastructure. He became an employee and spent more than six years at Tiger, where he was responsible for developing their operating infrastructure, management of financing, liquidity, leverage of the funds and streamlining controls and procedures throughout the organization.

Previously Mr. Versella spent over ten years at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs in various groups supporting hedge funds, alternative managers and institutions. He has developed long term relationships with a variety of firms within the hedge fund community and with key professionals throughout the industry. He holds NASD registrations in the series 7, 24, 63 and is a member of the Association of Professional Consultants, Alliance of Professionals & Consultants, Inc., and an honored member of Cambridge Who’s Who.
